I get asked all the time by Mustang owners “Why would I want a hinged rear louver?” and I’ll tell you aesthetics aside… There are quite a few reasons that you would want a hinged Mustang rear window louver over a non-hinged Mustang rear window louver, first and foremost being the ability to clean your rear window! The MRT Interceptor Hinged Mustang Rear Window Louver as pictured below mounts to the rear window in the four corners using adhesive foam tape, and It’s hinged at the top, and each lower corner has a lock, so it can be lifted up to clean the window.
This MRT Interceptor Hinged Aluminum Black Powder Coated Rear Window Louver is the perfect fit and the perfect addition to your 2005 – 2008 Mustang! This stylish and functional louver completes the natural lines of the your 2005 – 2008 Mustang V6 or GT.
The hinged design allows easy lift up for window cleaning and the best part is installation requires no sheet metal drilling or modifications! It mounts to the rear window using 1/4″ wide x 1.125mm thick 3M Acrylic Foam Bonding tape!
From the inside they’re virtually invisible. They can hardly be seen in the rear view mirror, and since they are aluminum they are guaranteed to never sag like the plastic louvers do!
It comes powder coated satin black and ready to install in a 1-piece design. All hardware is included as well as a mounting template for simple installation!
All the tools & Materials required are listed below:
- Phillips Screwdriver
- Pen
- Masking Tape
- Scissors
- 11/32 wrench
- tape measure
- aluminum foil 3″ X 6″
They look fantastic installed, really adding that finishing touch to your 2005 – 2008 Mustang!

Eanna has customized this 2006 Vista Blue Mustang V6 Coupe with Pony Package with some great modifications like an interior upgrade, active anti theft system, silver ford racing stripes, GT takeoff mufflers and rear bumper, K&N Cold Air Intake, , rear light cluster bezels, painted mirror caps and a billet fuel door.
Eanna’s 2006 Vista Blue Mustang V6 Coupe with Pony Package comes to us all the way from the UK… “As you can imagine there aren’t too many Mustangs here so it gets a lot of attention, which is really cool.”
