Buying a used car isn't such a bad idea...You want that brand new shiny car or SUV… You know the one… That sexy must have car that all of your friends are talking about… the one that your neighbor up the street owns. You want it… You just don’t want the hefty payments that come with it… Right? Good news! Last years model is just as sexy, and late model used cars are often the best values you’ll find in the automotive market.

Not only is the price lower, but overall expenses like insurance and taxes are lower too, plus a used vehicle has already taken its biggest hit in depreciation. In short, buying used is the perfect way to get that car you’ve been longing for. Buying used isn’t for everyone though… You need to do your homework and go into it with your eyes open. Consider these issues…

Buying a late-model used vehicle is not as much of a risk as it used to be. When properly maintained, today’s vehicles should easily go well past 100,000 miles, and many could reach 200,000 miles without any major breakdowns, however that is certainly not guaranteed and a used car is either close to coming off warranty or already off it, so you may want to be prepared for some large out of pocket repairs.

Buying a used car also means you won’t have the latest safety features. Newer features such as electronic stability control (ESC), head-protecting curtain air bags, LATCH child-seat restraints, and advanced frontal air-bag systems are harder to find on older vehicles. But a vehicle with more common safety features such as antilock brakes, traction control, and side air bags will be more affordable on a used car than on a similarly equipped new car.

In terms of cost your interest rate may be higher when buying a used car than it would be with a new car but the overall savings on insurance, as well as the lower purchase price should more than outweigh the cost.

With the low cost and availability of aftermarket automotive styling accessories, dressing up a late model used car is not really an issue. No matter the make or model you are interested in, you can find everything from chrome grille inserts to chrome door handle & mirror covers, everything from hubcaps to brake caliper paint, and for the interior there are floor mats, leather steering wheel covers and billet aluminum accessories all of which are easy to install and affordable.

The bottom line is if you can live with a reliable vehicle that is in less-than-mint condition and you’re willing to pay for maintenance and repair costs, your dollars will go further when buying a used car rather than a new one.

In the last several posts we’ve been talking about just how fast, easy and economical it is to replace your broken driver side mirror glass or broken passenger side mirror glass yourself, rather than having the dealership replace the entire mirror head assembly.

We went through the steps and realized that replacing your broken side mirror is a truly worthwhile project, and anything but intimidating, difficult or time consuming…  But once again, I know what you’re thinking…  You’re thinking, “Sure it’s easy to replace a non-heated, non-signal glass, but my mirrors are heated with a turn signal. There’s electrical components and a heat grid involved! That’s got to be harder… Right?”

Well guess what???

Replacing a broken heated signal mirror with one of our Burco Redi Heat mirrors is actually easier than you think!

You still don’t believe me???

Below I have listed the steps along with a simple diagram for replacing a broken heated side mirror with a one of our Burco Redi Heat mirrors.

Step by Step instructions for replacing a broken side mirror with a one of our Burco® Redi Heat mirrors.

Step by Step instructions for replacing a broken side mirror with a one of our Burco® Redi Heat mirrors.

Burco Redi Set Go mirror glass comes complete with a motor mount affixed directly to the mirror for easy installation.

  1. Remove all existing glass from the mirror head’s plastic inner platform (backing plate). Disconnect old terminal leads from old heating element.
  2. Clean backing plate with rubbing alcohol. Clean back of replacement mirror with Burco Window Glo or other glass cleaner.
  3. Apply the Burco Redi Stick adhesive patches to the replacement auto mirror glass back or to the backing plate itself.
  4. Reconnect mirror head’s terminal leads to the Burco Redi Heat mirrors leads.
  5. Align and press replacement auto mirror glass to the backing plate.
  6. Clean the installed Burco Redi Cuts mirror with Burco Window Glo or other urethane-safe glass cleaner.

And that’s that! Couldn’t be easier right?

Are you looking for a set of 6 lug center caps for your Chevrolet or GMC truck?  Chances are you’ve found quite a few!  The problem is you want a set that bolts on rather than snaps on so you don’t have to worry about them falling off or being stolen…  Right?  Well look no further because TODAY is your LUCKY DAY!

Set of Four Chevrolet, GMC Truck 6 Lug Bolt On Center Caps

This is a set of four (4) aftermarket 6 lug bolt on center caps with threaded bolt caps compatible with most Chevrolet or GMC 6 lug wheels.  They were designed to fit the following vehicles with 6 lug wheels:

  • 1999-2009 Chevy Silverado (6 Lug Wheel)
  • 2002-2009 Chevy Avalanche (6 Lug Wheel)
  • 2007-2009 Chevy Suburban (6 Lug Wheel)
  • 2007-2009 Chevy Tahoe (6 Lug Wheel)
  • 2003-2009 Chevy 1500 Van (6 Lug Wheel)
  • 2003-2009 Chevy Express Van (6 Lug Wheel)
  • 1999-2009 GMC Sierra (6 Lug Wheel)
  • 2007-2009 GMC Yukon (6 Lug Wheel)
  • 2007-2009 GMC Yukon Denali (6 Lug Wheel)
  • 2003-2009 GMC 1500 Van (6 Lug Wheel)
  • 2004 GMC Savana Van (6 Lug Wheel)

Keep in mind that these are not universal center caps, these are bolt on center caps.

Set of Four Chevrolet, GMC Truck 6 Lug Bolt On Center Caps

Your wheels need to be of the correct size and specifications for these to work, and your lug nuts need to have outside thread for the center caps to tighten down on. All bolt on center caps and bolt on hubcaps are made to fit a particular wheel. The depth that the center cap or hubcap sits need to be perfect in order for the locking mechanism to reach the lugs and every wheel is different. Also the holes in the center cap or hubcap need to be the same distance apart as the wheel in order to bolt up and this differs from model to model. Basically what I’m trying to say is, there are no universal hubcaps or center caps which are “bolt on” because every vehicle is different.

With that in mind these center caps will fit most 6 lug GM wheels including those pictured below:
