Baby Moon Hubcaps available at HubcapsPlus.com.There is definitely a retro styling trend in the automotive industry today, as evidenced by the popularity of the throwback designs of the new Mustang, the new Challenger and the new Camaro, it seems that everything that was old is new again! It would seem that consumers are hearkening back to their glory days, trying to recapture at least a part of their youth.

So it’s no surprise at all that there has been a renewed interest in baby moon hubcaps… You remember baby moon hubcaps don’t you? Those chrome smoothies gleaming in the sun usually coupled with extra wide whitewalls… They were the epitome of cool! Well folks guess what? They are the epitome of cool again.

If you want to give your ride a new look with retro style this is an easy choice… There are however a few things to keep in mind. Baby moon hubcaps don’t attach like regular hubcaps, they are held on via the nubs found on the crown of your wheel. If you are replacing an existing set of baby moon hubcaps, the easiest way to determine the size is to just take baby moon hubcap off of the wheel, flip it over and measure the inside diameter of the cap. If you don’t have existing baby moons, then use the diagrams below.

Baby Moon installation instructions.

The rule of thumb for fitment is as follows:

If your measurement is between 8″ & 9″, then the 8″ baby moon hubcaps will be compatible.

If your measurement is between 9″ & 10″, then the 9″ baby moon hubcaps will be compatible.

If your measurement is 10″ & up, then the 10″ baby moon hubcaps will be compatible.

If you have a Dodge Caravan then you know its dirty little secret. The Dodge Caravan hubcaps are prone to coming off at the most inopportune times. In fact the Dodge Caravan throws more hubcaps than any other vehicle I know! I’m not sure if it’s just a flawed concept and completely unintentional or if it’s a sinister plot to get consumers to purchase more hubcaps… Either way it amounts to a serious pain in the neck… And in the pocketbook for Dodge Caravan owners.

Replacement Caravan hubcaps, if purchased from a dealership can run you upwards of $75.00 per cap! That can run into quite a bit of scratch after several lost caps.

But did you know that replica hubcaps are available for almost every make and model vehicle on the road today? Including Dodge Caravan replica hubcaps? Replica hubcaps are designed to resemble factory hubcaps in almost every way with one BIG difference… Replica hubcaps usually run about 75% less then the factory caps from a dealer.

Granted as they are replica hubcaps they will not have the manufacturers logo. Logos are the legal trademark of the individual manufacturer or manufacturers, and as such it would be trademark infringement to include them on a replica cap. But for the cost of one factory hubcap you can generally purchase an entire set of four replica hubcaps!

Look at what is available for Dodge Caravan owners…

Set of Four Replica 1996 - 2000 15 inch Dodge Caravan and Dodge Mini Van Hubcaps

A Set of Four Replica 1996 – 2000 15 inch Dodge Caravan and Dodge Mini Van Hubcaps for $49.99 Shipped!

Set of Four Replica 1996 - 1999 16 inch Dodge Caravan Hubcaps and Dodge Mini Van Hubcaps

A Set of Four Replica 1996 – 1999 16 inch Dodge Caravan Hubcaps and Dodge Mini Van Hubcaps for $52.99 Shipped!

Don’t pay dealership prices to replace those lost Dodge Caravan hubcaps! Buy replicas instead!

It goes without saying at this point that you should shop your car on-line before pulling the trigger and actually making the purchase. But did you know you could save a significant amount of money by purchasing factory dealer take off styling options and other easy to install parts online as well? That’s right! The same exact factory parts that you would buy from the dealership are available online at significant discounts through factory approved vendors.

When customers go in to the dealership to purchase a new vehicle they like to customize it, to make it truly their own. Items like floormats, emblems and badges and other interior and exterior trim are upgraded all the time. The dealership takes these parts off of the car in question and replaces them with the upgraded option. This leaves a surplus of stock factory parts which technically can’t be sold as new even though the majority of dealer take off parts have fewer than five miles of operation.

So the dealership takes these parts and sells them to approved vendors or liquidators who in turn sell them to folks like you and me who are smart enough to look for a real bargain! Just look at the savings on these dealer takeoff factory Ford Mustang parts listed below:

Factory Ford GT Mustang Leather Shift Knob

A Factory Ford GT Mustang Leather Shift Knob for only $34.99 Shipped!

2005 - 2008 OEM Ford GT Mustang Chrome Rear Deck Lid Emblem

A Factory Ford 2005 – 2008 OEM Ford GT Mustang Chrome Rear Deck Lid Emblem for only $29.99 Shipped!

2005 - 2008 Factory Ford Mustang GT Black Front Floor Mats

2005 – 2008 Factory Ford Mustang GT Black Front Floor Mats for only $39.99 Shipped!

2005 – 2008 OEM Ford Mustang GT 4.6L Air Box Assembly Including Air Filter for only $44.99 Shipped!

So if you’re in the market to purchase a new car you may want to buy the car without the add-ons, then go shopping online after, and if you are looking at sprucing up a car that you already own you may want to pass on purchasing the parts at the dealership and look for some dealer takeoffs!

I get asked all the time by Mustang owners “Why would I want a hinged rear louver?” and I’ll tell you aesthetics aside… There are quite a few reasons that you would want a hinged Mustang rear window louver over a non-hinged Mustang rear window louver, first and foremost being the ability to clean your rear window! The MRT Interceptor Hinged Mustang Rear Window Louver as pictured below mounts to the rear window in the four corners using adhesive foam tape, and It’s hinged at the top, and each lower corner has a lock, so it can be lifted up to clean the window.
